Bouquet with Sunflowers and a Story
by Piet Leutsch
This is an important painting from one of the best creative times in Piet Leutsch's artist carrier. Sunflowers, his favourite flowers are always around at his birthday in August. In this painting the rich yellow colour of the petals, contrasted by some intense blue and three dimensional structure in their dark centre, are absolutely stunning. The Roman Venus, the mortar and the pewter plate arranged in form of a still-life are reminding us, that in reality this artist is a real 'story-teller'.
