Jack in the Pulpit I
by Piet Leutsch
Jack in the Pulpit, with the surprising and fascinating structure of its flower with an upright flower spike that looks like a tiny man standing in an old-fashioned pulpit and with a hooded top that is partially hidden by a leaflike flower petal caught the artist's eye as one of the most curios Canadian wild flowers. With his ability to draw after nature he caught the essence of this strange looking plant.
